Shanteé
Bentzen: Hello!
My name is Shanteé Bentzen and
I will be one of the Lead Teachers in
the Caterpillar Room (6 weeks 12 months).
I have been involved in educating children
for the past two years at an accredited
center, which included acting as Lead
Teacher, mentor, and helper to my fellow
coworkers. I find myself drawn to the
field of teaching young children because
I feel that children are fascinating
and it's a wonderful and enriching experience
to be a part of their educational development.
I am attending Montgomery College where
I am close to earning my Associates
Degree in Early Childhood Education.
Once I graduate I would like to continue
with my education and attend either
Hood College or The Universities at
Shady Grove to earn my Bachelor's Degree.
I have my 90hr Preschool Certificate
and the 45 Hour Infant & Toddler
Certificate.
I currently live in Frederick, MD with
my husband Isaac and my puppy Pochaco.
In addition to my love for cleaning
and being well organized, I enjoy singing
Karaoke at least once a week with my
dad, and would eventually like to audition
for American Idol. So watch out America
I
could be your next American Idol!
I love knowing that the moment a child
learns something new or reaches a new
and exciting milestone in the life,
that I had a big part in helping them
get there. I enjoy being a part of their
educational experience and it is truly
an honor to watch them develop and grow.
I am anxious to begin the new experience
of working at Watch Me Grow and learning
all about your children.

about children is their imagination,
how much I can learn from them and
they can learn from me. It really
makes my day when the children are
excited to see me.

Polly Beetles |
Jeannette
Velazquez: Hola!
My name is Jeannette Velazquez, and
I look forward with great excitement
to be a teacher in the Rolly Polly Beetles
Room (12 months - 18 months). I have
3 years experience working with infants,
along with my 90 hour Preschool Certificate
and my 45 hour Infant and Toddler Certificate.
I love working with infants because
it's fulfilling to help them grow and
develop into wonderful children. I get
great joy from watching the new things
they learn everyday. I believe that
all babies are special and touch our
hearts in many ways. I understand how
difficult it can be for parents to leave
their infants at a child care center.
It's important to me that parents are
confident in knowing that their children
are loved and treated as if they were
my own.
Originating from Nicaragua, I speak
Spanish and English. I have lived in
this country for 21 years and have 3
brothers and 3 sisters, so I come from
a large family. I am happily married
with six wonderful children of my own.
I have four boys and two girls; the
oldest girl Samantha is 18, the oldest
boy Raphael is 16, Jusseth is 14, Fernando
my helper is 12, Cynthia is 9, and Jesse
is 7. In addition to the love I have
for spending time with my family, I
also enjoy cooking and decorating. It
has been such a pleasure decorating
the new Caterpillar room where the infants
will be spending their day.

Natalie
Felix: Hello,
my name is Nathalie Felix, and I am
very excited to be the Program Coordinator
for the Watch Me Grow Child Development
Center. I have had the privilege of
working in the Butterfly classrooms.
I have been
in the Early Childhood and Education
field for over 10 years. I have worked
with all age groups from three months
to four year olds. In my professional
career I have been a Center Floater,
Associate Teacher and a Lead Teacher
at accredited centers. I have a Child
Development Associate (CDA), and I
am currently attending Montgomery
College where I have two semesters
left to attain my Associate Degree
in Early Childhood Education.
Originally
from Jamaica, I came to the states
in my teens. I am the oldest of three
children and the only girl. My brothers
are two years and 16 years younger,
so I am truly the big sister. I enjoy
every minute of it. In my spare time
I look forward to spending time with
my family, shopping baking, reading,
listening to music and going to the
movies with my friends.
I have always
thought it was my destiny to work
with children. I was very fortunate
to come from a family of teachers,
and the heartfelt desire to work with
children was passed along to me by
my great-grandmother and great aunt.
What excited me about working with
children is seeing them achieve their
milestones, whether it's walking,
learning something new or writing
their name. Knowing that I've had
a critical part in helping children
reach their successes is very rewarding
to me.
