The Safe Passage Center is a welcoming, family-friendly safe space for families in Montgomery County involved with the County Court System. The Safe Passage Center provides free, supervised visitation and monitored exchanges in a structured, secure environment, where many of the common stressors of family exchanges are removed for both parents and their children.

Since its opening, the Safe Passage Center has filled a much-needed gap for families impacted by domestic violence and/or high conflict divorce and custody issues, allowing their children to safely maintain relationships with both parents.

Our Philosophy

The Safe Passage Center’s goal is to encourage and build healthy family relationships, keeping children close to both parents regardless of the current family situation or parental conflict. We aim to provide the visiting parent consistent and regular access to their child(ren) while ensuring the residential parent that visits and exchanges are occurring in a safe and structured environment.

By removing many outside stressors that are associated with visits and exchanges, including parental interaction, we allow parents to focus on the love and support their children need. Our Center is a community resource that is available so parents and children have opportunities to spend more quality time together, helping families heal and become stronger, and supporting the family as they achieve a level of positive co-parenting.

Our compassionate, dedicated, trained team of visit monitors and security guards remain neutral and non-judgmental in all family encounters and disputes. We treat all family members with respect and dignity, providing a welcoming space for family time. We have created cozy, age-appropriate visitation rooms that allow for a variety of activities, ensuring that each visit is meaningful for the diverse families that we serve.
