Baby Steps Helps You and Your Baby Off to a Good Start!
Baby Steps provides universal hospital-based health screening at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital to as many new Montgomery County moms and newborns as possible. Our Baby Steps nurses link new parents to community health services and provide appropriate follow up as needed through telephone consultations and home visits.
Baby Steps Provides

- Linkages to community health services
- Connection to ChildLink at 240-777-GROW (4769) - the comprehensive source for information and resources for parents and caregivers with children age birth to five. ChildLink serves as Montgomery County’s point of entry and referral source for information on parenting, health, mental health, preschool education and childcare, special needs, home visiting and recreational activities
Any new mother who resides in Montgomery County may receive services without charge. This program is a free community service exclusively for Montgomery County residents.
This program is funded by Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services - Office of Children, Youth and Family Services.
