Mental Health Services

Outpatient Mental Health Center

A comprehensive, community mental health center located on the FSI Gaithersburg Nonprofit Village campus offers a full range of psychiatric assessment and treatment services.

Montgomery Station

A community, recovery-focused psychiatric rehabilitation program serving adults in Montgomery County with mental illness—services include a day program, residential rehabilitation, a mental health vocational program, and support for independent living. Four HUD, Section 811 projects are operated.

Independence Program

A community, recovery-focused psychiatric rehabilitation program serving adults in Prince George's County with mental illness—services include residential rehabilitation, a mental health vocational program, and support for independent living.

Transitional Age Youth

A community, recovery-focused psychiatric rehabilitation program serving transitional age youth (18-24) in Montgomery County with mental illness is provided. Services include a day program, residential rehabilitation, a mental health vocational program, and support for independent living.

Care and Connections for Families

Care & Connections for Families (CCF) provides services for youth (ages 6 to 18) and their families who seek stabilization support after a youth has experienced a mental health crisis. This program is designed to provide short-term intensive in-home mental health services, as well as connection to longer-term services to ensure long-term stabilization. Parents and caregivers will work together with their youth, their therapist, and their in-home stabilizers to construct a plan toward resilience and recovery.

Health Home

Provides certified care specialists, registered nurses, entitlements specialists and other healthcare professionals to help manage your overall health and wellness. Health Home provides a unique opportunity to combine health and mental health care, addressing behavioral, physical and social needs.

OnTrack Maryland

Specialized programs for the early identification, evaluation, and treatment of adolescents and young adults who have started experiencing certain troubling thoughts and/or experiences, or exhibiting changes in behavior.

Substance Abuse Services

The Landing

An adolescent recovery club house located in Gaithersburg providing recovery support and related services to youth who are currently in substance abuse treatment or those recently discharged from treatment.

Community Support Services

Housing Counselor

Relocation and renter assistance and help in applying for county rental subsidy programs, eviction prevention, money/debt management, and other services, are provided for Gaithersburg residents.

Neighborhood Safety Net Program

In partnership with Montgomery County and other nonprofits, the FSI Neighborhood Safety Net Program provides assistance with applications and referrals to emergency services—utilities, rent, food, health care, legal matters, foreclosure prevention, financial workshops, etc.

Creating Healthy Bonds

Creating Healthy Bonds is a collaborative, culturally-sensitive program designed to serve children of incarcerated parents (COIP). It provides therapy, support, parenting and case management services in the community for children, caregivers, and ultimately the incarcerated parents upon their release as well as parallel programming in the form of support and parenting education/ coaching to parents placed in the Montgomery County Correctional facility.

Creative Family Projects, LLC

Creative Family Projects identifies problems and provides solutions by synthesizing information from organizations, institutions and corporations into booklets and training modules for the benefit of children, youth and families.

Housing Initiative Program

The Housing Initiative Program (HIP) is designed to reduce the incidence of homelessness in Montgomery County by providing permanent supportive housing.


At TOGETHER, our goal is to promote healthy family relationships, personal well-being, effective parenting, and employment and financial stability in our communities. All services are free of charge for those eligible to participate.

Early Childhood Services

Watch Me Grow Child Development Center

A fee-based high quality childcare program for pre-school children, as well as before and after school care for children, is provided in the Clarksburg community.

Discovery Station Early Head Start

Home-based child development and parent support is provided for low income families with children aged 0 to 3; the Discovery Station Child Development Center, located on the FSI Gaithersburg Nonprofit Village campus, serves 28 children of parenting teens and is MDSE Accredited.

Healthy Families Montgomery (HFM)

A nationally accredited bilingual home visiting service in Montgomery County is provided for first-time parents who are experiencing multiple life stressors.

Early Childhood Education & Training

FSI provides professional training, mentoring, and mental health consultation services to home visitors and childcare providers throughout Montgomery County.

Family Discovery Center

Multi-generational year round program promoting adult learning and healthy child development in families with young children.

Ed Bohrer Parent Resource Center (PRC)

With support from the City of Gaithersburg, the center at Gaithersburg Elementary School helps Spanish and English speaking parents and individuals access services and pursue educational goals for themselves and their children.

DARE to be You

A family-focused, 10 week prevention program is provided at three Montgomery County elementary schools to help families with preschoolers improve parent and child interactions.

Keys to Success

Keys to Success program supports middle and high school students who are pregnant or parenting as they move towards high school graduation, post secondary education and self-sufficiency.

School-Based Services

"GUYS" Youth Mentoring

Through the provision of mentoring and academic supports at Gaithersburg Middle School, GUYS Youth Mentoring services helps young men find the discipline and confidence to make safe and positive life choices.

Linkages to Learning (LTL)

A comprehensive array of school-based mental health services is provided in six elementary and two middle schools in Montgomery County. Services include individual, family and group therapy; psychiatric assessment and intervention; case management; and, prevention/early intervention services.

Regional Youth Service Centers

Prevention and early intervention youth and family services are offered in the upper areas of Montgomery County providing evidence-based services to strengthen individual and family resiliency through our "Youth Service Bureaus" and centers.

Thriving Germantown

A multi-generational, multi-sector care coordination initiative developed to alleviate poverty in the Germantown area starting with the Captain James. E. Daly Elementary School Community. Services specialize in risk area such as early care and education, health and wellness, behavioral health, and household sustainability for all students and their families enrolled at Daly Elementary School.

Victim and Domestic Violence Services

Betty Ann Krahnke Center (BAK)

Women and children fleeing and recovering from domestic violence, as well as sexual assault, and human trafficking, are provided a refuge. With the support of the Montgomery County Abused Persons Program, FSI operates the 60 bed Betty Ann Krahnke Center, an emergency, short-term residential shelter where women can heal and begin planning for a safer future for themselves and their children. Interventions include case management, professional group and individual counseling, advocacy, safety planning, and limited child care services—all from a trauma-informed orientation.

Safe Passage Center

The Safe Passage Center is a "family-friendly" and safe access site with the goal of enabling children to remain close to both parents regardless of the family situation or parental conflict. The Center is focused on the safety and well-being of all family members involved, and remains neutral in disputes.
