Grant Awarded to Family Services to Support Adult English Literacy Across Montgomery County

MCAEL Announces $1,120,000 in Grant Awards for FY18 
20 Organizations Receive Funds to Support Adult English Literacy in Montgomery County 

ROCKVILLE, MD – June 30, 2017 – The Montgomery Coalition for Adult English Literacy (MCAEL), announces the award of $1,120,000 in grants to support adult English literacy programs across Montgomery County. Funding for the grants is provided in partnership with the Montgomery County Government, with the support of County Executive Leggett and the Montgomery County Council. 

A total of 20 organizations will receive grant support from MCAEL, for 25 adult English literacy programs. Recommendations for funding were made by a 14-member volunteer Grant Review Panel, composed of community members. FY18 grant recipients are, in alphabetical order:

The objective of MCAEL’s grants program is to increase the availability of adult English literacy services offered to diverse populations, and to improve the quality of those services in the county.
