Description

The Program Coordinator will provide the intake and enrollment interviews and other related services for parents with a Montgomery County, MD, Court Order who seek services at the Safe Passage Center (SPC). The SPC maintains a safe and neutral setting where families with histories of high conflict and/or domestic violence can engage in visitation between children and their visiting parents in a monitored setting or can participate in monitored exchanges of children for weekend visits with their non-custodial parents.

Duties and Responsibilities

provide intake and enrollment interviews for all parents referred to the SPC; review visitation and exchange reports prepared by staff of accuracy and completeness; monitor visits and supervised exchanges between parents and children; ensure visit and waiting rooms remain neat and organized; and participate in case reviews and administrative functions to ensure the smooth running of the center.
The selected candidate will report to the Center's Program Director and work closely with program and security staff. This individual must be collaborative, possess emotional intelligence and demonstrate the ability to exercise sound decision making and judgment with a high regard for the safety, respect and confidentiality of all parents and children.

Work Schedule: Tuesday or Thursday 2 pm to 8 pm; Wednesday 2 pm to 8 pm; Friday, Saturday and Sunday 12 pm to 8 pm.

Qualifications

Minimum of Bachelor degree in human services, social work, psychology or education field or equivalent. Must have a minimum of two years of experience in the field of supervised visitation or equivalent training and work with at risk families and children in a social service setting; experience with families impacted by domestic violence preferred. Must have some supervisory experience and be 21 years of age or older. Must have effective communication skills with the ability to speak and understand Spanish.
