Division Director - Children, Youth & Family Services - Gaithersburg, MD


Summary of Responsibilities:

As a member of the senior leadership team, provides direct supervision of the program managers and directors in the Children, Youth and Family Services Division. Responsible for program expansion, and management and financial oversight, as well as company-wide leadership initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Program Representative:
• Serves as a liaison between Program Directors and Executive Director
• Serves on the Senior Leadership Team.
• Provides direct supervision to Healthy Families Montgomery Director, Early Head Start Program Director, Family Discovery Program Director, Early Childhood Education and Training Director, Watch Me Grow Child Development Center Director, Gaithersburg Youth Mentoring Coordinator, Community Safety Net Coordinator, Parent Resource Center Coordinator and the Data Specialist.

Program Development and Quality Assurance:
• Responsible for assisting with program expansion and business development.
• Develops and implements strategic plan in conjunction with Executive Director and CFO.
• Reviews each program’s policies and procedures to ensure that they meet each program’s regulatory authorities. Leads Directors through RFP, relicensing and/or monitoring processes.
• Ensures that each program is operating within Family Services Inc. mission and vision.
• Reports each program’s progress to Executive Director

• Develop/oversee each program’s budget in conjunction with CFO.
• Networking and marketing to ensure stability of current programs and explore additional business opportunities/areas of growth.
• Grant writing for various program expansions.

Organizational Oversight and Responsibilities:
• Represent the organization as Executive level staff or in the absence of the Executive Director.
• Responsibility to formulate company-wide initiatives, goals and procedures
• Maintain awareness of community needs and seek opportunities to expand the organization to include negotiating business partnerships, responding to RFP’s, developing business plans and/or seeking grant funding


Master’s Degree from accredited college or university in social work, psychology, or related field, as well as 10 years managerial experience. Excellent written and public speaking skills with experience managing grants and providing fiscal oversight. Grant writing experience preferred.
