Steps provides universal hospital-based
health screening at Shady Grove
Adventist and Holy Cross Hospitals
to as many new Montgomery County
moms and newborns as possible. The
Baby Steps nurses link new parents
to community health services and
provide appropriate follow up as
needed through telephone consultations
and home visits.
Baby
Steps Provides:

of newborns and their mothers at
the hospital
- Follow up
as needed with new parents through
telephone consultations and home
visits as well as health assessments
- Linkages
to community health services
- Connection
to ChildLink at 240-777-GROW (4769)
- the comprehensive source for information
and resources for parents and caregivers
with children age birth to five.
ChildLink
serves as Montgomery Countys
point of entry and referral source
for information on parenting, health,
mental health, preschool education
and childcare, special needs, home
visiting and recreational activities
Eligibility
Requirements:
Any
new mother who resides in Montgomery
County may receive services without
charge.
