  • Lesson planning skills: learn how to create effective, engaging, and fun lesson plans for children of all ages

  • How to appropriately utilize and teach sign language: learn age-appropriate American Sign Language (ASL), and learn music and games for teaching ASL to young children

  • How to administer and score the ASQ (Ages & Stages Questionnaire): the ASQ is used to screen child development in communication, fine and gross motor skills, problem solving, and social-emotional development

  • How to recognize developmental delays: this training also focuses on how to most effectively communicate with families about developmental delays

  • How to interpret and apply the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA): learn how to be inclusive of all children

  • Team building skills: learn about personality types, how to best communicate, and how to boost morale

  • Best practices for working with parents: learn how to view and treat parents as your partners

  • How to utilize a trauma-informed approach when working with children: during this training, you will learn 10 basic strategies for effectively working with children who have experienced trauma

  • How to positively discipline children and foster an effective learning environment: learn basic SEFEL (Social and Emotional Foundations for Early Learning) techniques for infants and toddlers, or pre-kindergarten. We also offer SEFEL Leadership Strategies training.

  • Strategies to support school readiness: learn how to set children up for success in elementary school
