BROTHERS is a year round program for young men at Gaithersburg High School in Gaithersburg, MD, who come together to support each other in their academic, social and emotional growth. The BROTHERS program introduces positive role models to young men to help them tackle life's daily challenges. College students mentor high school students, who in turn mentor middle and elementary students.

Since 1989, the BROTHERS program has helped young men find the discipline and confidence to make safe and positive life choices. Once enrolled in the program, young BROTHERS remain members for life and continue to reach out to others.

The B.R.O.T.H.E.R.S. program offers:

•  Structured weekly meetings and guest speakers
•  After school tutoring and mentoring
•  Weekend activities and trips
•  Leadership retreats
•  Peer mediation and conflict resolution
•  Service projects in the community
•  College tours
•  Leadership training and career awareness
•  SAT workshops and college preparation
•  Youth advocacy in school and community
•  An alternative to gang involvement
•  Student retention and dropout prevention
